- Saleh Selim was Born in Cairo the 11th of September 1930 .
- His father Dr.Mohamed Selim was a renowned MD.
- Saleh graduated from Cairo University , faculty of commerce.
- Married with two sons, Khaled and Hisham Selim
- He had two younger brothers, Abdel wahab and Tarek Selim.
- Saleh joined the El-Ahly club in the year 1944; the club was a second home for Saleh.

- He started as a football player, and then became the club team manager, then a member of the board of directors, until the year 1980 when he was elected the president of the El-Ahly club.
- Due to his fame and massive popularity Saleh Selim was dragged in the show business, he acted in three movies with the top Egyptian actors.
- Saleh was elected five times President of the El-Ahly club, during Saleh's presidency the club won 12 League titles, 8 cup titles, 3 African champions title, 4 African cup winners, 1 African super cup, 4 Arab champion titles, 1 Afro-Asian title, in all he assisted the club to win 33 different champion titles.

- Also during his presidency among hundred of African clubs the El Ahly club was elected the African club of the century, on the 22d of May 2001 Saleh received the award in Johannesburg ( South Africa ).
- For more than four years Saleh suffered from a liver cancer, he was having a treatment in London , most of his fans knew nothing about it.
- On the 6th of May 2002 Saleh Selim the legendary hero passed away, but he will always remain in our memory, and will never be forgotten.
